Answers to common questions
How do I choose a floor coating provider?
Ask for a written quote. Check that it lists prep work, coating type, number of coats, and the total price. Ask how long the provider has done this work and if they can show past jobs. Compare at least two quotes. Singleworldwide Floor Coating links you with independent providers in our network, so you can compare easily.
How much does an epoxy garage floor cost?
In the U.S., epoxy garage floors often run about $3 to $12 per square foot. Price depends on floor size, floor condition, and coating type. Cracks, oil stains, and old paint add prep work. A basic two-car garage can land well above or below the typical range. Always get a written quote before work starts.
How long does the job take?
Many garage floors take two to four days. Most of that time is prep and drying. Grinding (smoothing the concrete with a machine) comes first. Then the coating goes on in layers. Each layer needs time to dry. Damp weather can slow things down, so ask the provider for a plan.
Can we still use the house during the work?
Usually, yes. The work happens in the garage or on the slab, so the rest of the home stays open. You may need to park outside for a few days. Fumes can drift, so ask the provider about airflow and which doors to keep shut. Plan around home life.
Does a damp climate affect floor coating?
Yes. Concrete holds moisture, and a long wet season adds more. Coatings can peel if the slab is too wet. A good provider tests the moisture first. Ask what test they use and what they do if the reading is high.
Will my insurance pay for a new floor coating?
Usually not. Insurance rarely covers a coating done for looks or wear. Some policies may cover sudden damage, such as a burst pipe that ruins a floor. Check your policy. Providers can often help document damage for a claim, but your insurer makes the final call.
Do I pay Singleworldwide Floor Coating anything?
Singleworldwide Floor Coating is a referral service. We do not do the work. You pay the provider you pick, based on their written quote. Requesting an estimate carries no obligation.
What should I do before the provider arrives?
Clear the floor. Move cars, bikes, shelves, and boxes out of the space. Take photos of cracks, stains, and any spots that stay damp. Measure the space if you can. Write down what finish you want, such as a solid color, flakes, or other custom floor finishes. Share all of this with the provider so the quote is closer to the real price. Also tell them about pets, kids, and any days you cannot be home.
